narcos: mexico

Netflix has released the first trailer for Narcos: Mexico. While the service has rebranded the series as a new entity, it's essentially the fourth series of Narcos.

Take a look.

The rebrand is more than just a change of name. The series is going back to its roots, focusing on the drug cartels and their deadly cat-and-mouse game with US law enforcement as they try to smuggle narcotics over the border.

There's a new cast, new time setting (the 1980s) and it's now set in Mexico instead of Columbia.

What hasn't changed is the moral ambiguity with both the good guys and the bad.

It starts on Netflix later this year.
