black mirror s5 teaser

New series of Black Mirror usually drop around the end of the year, and it looks like series five will be no different. According to a now-deleted tweet from the official Netflix account, the series will premiere on 28th December with an episode named Bandersnatch.

The tweet included a line-up of the streaming service’s December premieres. The episode title Bandersnatch matches an April tweet from the Black Mirror set, showing a production title of the same name.

So what does Bandersnatch mean? It’s a fictional creature from Lewis Carroll’s nonsense poem Jabberwocky. In another poem, Carroll refers to Bandersnatches as having “savagely snapping” jaws.

As to how this relates to Black Mirror, who knows. But, as ever, it’s sure to be a twisted take on a tech-fuelled dystopia.
