We knew that Netflix was working on an adaptation of the Dark Horse comic The Umbrella Academy, and now we have some more details.
The series will launch on 15th February next year. Like the comic, it follows a set of children born to women who weren’t pregnant the day before birth – while there are 43 of these in total, the series follows the seven who were adopted by a billionaire who trained them to save the world.
They set out to discover how their adopted father died, and to prevent the world ending while they’re at it.
The show features an all-star cast, including Ellen Page, Colm Feore, Mary J. Blige and Tom Hopper.
The comic was created by Gabriel Ba and My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way. And the series seems to have retained its quirky sensibility and humour.
