iPhone owners are set to benefit from free Wi-Fi at branches of Starbucks after O2 agreed a deal with the café chain and its new wireless internet provider BT.
Thanks to the agreement, owners of Apple’s all-conquering mobile phone will be able to get online for free at any of Starbucks’ 650 outlets in the UK and Ireland.
O2, which is the sole UK carrier of the iPhone, has recently begun a new drive to promote the Apple handsets ahead of the arrival of rival devices such as the HTC Magic and the N97.
This has seen the introduction of new tariffs whereby customers can get an iPhone for free when they sign up for a 24-month contract at £35 per month.
Apple yesterday confirmed that demand across the globe for iPhones remains strong, with some 3.79 million units sold during the last quarter alone.
