Vodafone pushes cheap pay-as-you-go tariffs with new campaign

Vodafone has launched a new advertising campaign to promote its pre-pay mobile phone value deals.

The campaign, which is dubbed If I Ruled the World, will see the company’s Freedom Packs promoted with TV spots, as well as print and outdoor advertising.

Launched earlier this month, the cheapest of the 30-day Freedom Packs offers customers 100 any-network, any-time minutes and 300 texts for £10, which the network claims effectively gives buyers £50 worth of usage for a fifth of the price.

Meanwhile, a £15 top up will add 200 minutes and 500 texts to your phone, while £20 top-up entitles buyers to unlimited texts and 300 minutes.

The free calls facet of the deals also includes those made to fixed line numbers starting with 01,02 and 03.

Vodafone’s return to high-profile promotional activities comes after last year saw the company slash its marketing and advertising budget by almost 18 per cent.

However, lavish campaigns are expected in months to come to promote the forthcoming HTC Magic handset, for which Vodafone has exclusive rights in the UK, and the much-anticipated Nokia N97.
