The iPhone version of music streaming service Spotify has been updated with the social networking features which are already a significant part of its full-blown desktop PC edition.
Version 0.4.5 of the Spotify app brings its mobile iteration of the service in line with some changes that were implemented last month, including a new inbox feature to which recommendations from friends will be delivered.
Both Facebook and Twitter are now embedded in the Spotify app, which means that the lack of multitasking on the iPhone will no longer be a hindrance if you want to share your thoughts and musical discoveries whilst using Spotify.
Slight tweaks have also been made to the search function, as well as the way in which information about songs is displayed, with the release year visible in tandem with the artist and album name.
Smartphone users who rely on Android or Symbian for their Spotify kicks will have to wait for information about similar updates, as the developer has kept quiet so far.
