Vodafone has trimmed a not inconsiderable £155 off the asking price of the iPhone 4, as part of a new offer on pre-owned phones.
Under the terms of the so-called 'Nearly New' promo, a ‘brand-new, second-hand’ CF: Roots Manuva circa 1999, iPhone 4 can be yours on pay as you go for £250 – down from £405 previously.
The deal is one of many across a range of phones up for grabs with Vodafone with its just-launched scheme, all of which have been inspected and reconditioned for re-sale.
Pay monthly phones are also available with the offer, among them the Samsung Galaxy S3. If you don’t mind owning a used phone, you can get Sammy’s flagship handset and unlimited calls and texts for £33 per month. Vodafone’s price for a brand new edition of the same kit with the same allowances, meanwhile, is £37 per month, spelling a total saving of £96 over the course of the contract term.
All pay as you go Nearly New phones come with a 12-month warranty. Go with pay monthly and your kit is covered for 24 months.
Vodafone stated: "Nearly New is designed to make it even more affordable for people, especially those who prefer pay-as-you-go services, to get their hands on a smartphone and start using the mobile internet.
"It is part of our ambition to get the internet into the hands of our customers. It follows the changes we have already made to the way we sell new devices - such as refurbishing our shops to focus on service and introducing our Tech Team of in-store, online and call centre technical support staff - to ensure that we help our customers get the most out of their new gadget."
