Just bought a new iPhone, but can’t seem to get it working? Well, you’re not alone. Apple’s iPhone activation servers are down, meaning new owners can’t fire up their devices.
Twitter is alive with complaints from users who are unable to activate their handsets.
Meanwhile, a tipster has told MacRumors that on calling Apple, he was told that its iPhone activation servers were not working.
This could not come at a worse time for Apple. Its developer site remains inaccessible, and has been for over a week, after a Turkish ‘security researcher’ hacked his way into Cupertino’s systems.
With the iPhone’s market share also sliding, Apple needs all the good PR it can get.
Apple has yet to make any announcement about its iPhone server issues, with no word as to when the problem will be fixed.
