Apple is said to be prepping two different versions of its iWatch, with a larger model for men and smaller one for women.
The bold new claim comes from analyst David Hsieh, who works for DisplaySearch. Speaking in Taiwan, he suggested that the men’s model will tote at 1.7-inch OLED screen, with the women’s version available in a smaller 1.3-inch size.
Hsieh is known for making well-informed predictions about Apple, offering nailed on analysis in August last year of the then unannounced iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. However, seeing as this is the first time such iWatch rumours have been heard, it’s worth taking this latest gossip with a pinch of salt.
While he was happy to talk about screen size, Hsieh would not be drawn on whether the wearable device would use a flexible display. Apple is said to be plotting iPhones using curved screens for next year.
The iWatch is expected to be released later next year, with Apple apparently turning its attention from its much-vaunted HD TV in order to focus on the timepiece.
