O2 has cut the price of the iPhone 5S, as the imminent arrival of new-phone season prompts the usual round of discounts from carriers.
Sign up now for the 16GB edition of the iPhone 5S on a two-year contract with O2 at £37 per month and you’ll pay an upfront charge of £39.99 instead of the previous fee of £129.99.
That includes allowances of 1GB of 4G data per month, as well as unlimited minutes and texts.
You’ll also get a choice of the gold, silver or space grey colourways and access to O2 benefits. Think: priority ticket booking and perks at O2 venues and use of its network of 8,000 Wi-Fi hotspots when you’re out and about.
Billed as the “most forward-thinking” iPhone so far, the iPhone 5S’s spec sheet takes in a 4.7-inch Retina Display, an A7 chip with M7 motion coprocessor and a revamped eight-megapixel iSight camera with True Tone flash.
The iOS 7-powered phone’s key novelty for long-time Apple acolytes, though, was the addition of Touch ID fingerprint scanning technology to boost its security credentials.
