iPhone 8 screen protector gives clear look at Apple’s plans

A newly leaked screen protector, purportedly for the iPhone 8, has given the clearest look yet at what Apple has planned for its next-generation smartphone.

Emanating from China and said to be compatible with the iPhone 8’s 3D Touch tech, the screen protector has extremely narrow bezels and a special cutout at the top to accommodate the front–facing camera and core sensors.

The latter tallies with a series of recent rumours, which suggest Apple has not managed to find a way to place the camera behind the iPhone 8’s display.

One report claims that instead Apple will blacken out the top of the device’s screen to give it a neater finish.

The protector also appears to clear up any confusion as to whether the iPhone 8 will have a curved screen.

The display in this case is flat, with slight curves at the edges to accommodate the sides of the device, in keeping with the existing look of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 8 at a special event in September.
