The iPhone 8 and its supersized stablemate the iPhone 8 Plus are now up for pre-order on O2, ahead of their arrival on shop shelves on 22nd September.
As ever, both phones are available on a range of tariffs. But, for us at least, the most noteworthy iPhone 8 is priced £50 per month, with £159 to pay upfront.
That buys you 5GB of data per month, plus unlimited calls and texts. You also get use of O2’s public Wi-Fi network and daily offers with its Priority customer rewards scheme.
If you don’t mind spending a bit more, you can grab the iPhone 8 with 20GB per month for £59 per month and £159 upfront. This also includes unlimited calls and texts.
But its real ‘sell’ is that you get to trade upgrade to a shiny, new handset after 12 months, with O2’s Yearly Upgrade Programme. And you’re entitled to a free screen replacement if you suffer a mishap, too.
The iPhone 8 Plus is a bit pricier. But if we’re in the market, we’d likely plump for the deal priced £54 per month and £159 upfront. Monthly allowances here are 5GB per month and unlimited calls and texts.
Got a bit more cash to throw around and need more data? In that case, we’d opt for the deal that’s priced £63 per month and £119.99 upfront, which bags you 20GB of mobile internet usage per month and bottomless calls and texts.
Once again, this includes the option to trade-in the phone and upgrade to a new phone for no extra outlay. And a gratis screen replacement, should disaster strike.
Interestingly, existing O2 customers who pre-order as an upgrade to select O2 Refresh tariffs, can get an extra 10GB per month for the 24-month duration of their contract term.
