Apple has released a new version of iOS 11 which fixes a widely reported screen freezing issue with its new iPhone X.
Users had complained on the company’s official discussion boards, as well as various Apple fan sites, that there iPhone X stopped working whenever they took the phone out in cold weather.
iOS 11.1.2, released today, fixes that problem. Apple’s release notes say the update, “Fixes an issue where the iPhone X screen becomes temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid temperature drop.”
The problem is just one of a number of woes to have hit iPhone X owners since the device was released on 3rd November.
Some have complained of a green line appearing on the display, while others have said that the earpiece speaker crackles when playing audio at high volume.
Despite this, it’s thought that the iPhone X has been a huge success for Apple. Official sales figures are unlikely to be released until the new year, but with supply now becoming more stable, it’s likely Apple’s tenth anniversary smartphone will be the year’s bestselling handset.
