iOS 11.2 is available to download for iPhones and iPads now, bringing with it the Apple Pay Cash app that allows users to send money to contacts via iMessage.
Originally unveiled at Apple’s WWDC event in June, Apple Pay Cash is the California company’s attempt to steal a march on services such as Paypal and Gmail.
Currently Apple Pay Cash is only available in the US, with no word on when it will roll out to the rest of the world.
Considering it took a year for Apple Pay to launch in the UK after it was first available over the pond, the wait could be considerable.
Other functionality added with iOS 11.2 includes faster wireless charging for the warmly reviewed iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, new Live wallpapers, better video camera stabilisation and even adds snow sports to HealthKit.

A number of bugs have also been fixed, including a major error which saw iPhones crash when they received repeat notifications and the Mail app to show notifications even when they'd been received.
iOS 11.2 is available for iPhone 5s and newer and iPad mini 2 and newer.
