Apple will start selling its long–awaited AirPower charging mat in March, six months after it was first announced.
A new report from Japan claims that the device is ready to ship, along with a dedicated charging case for Apple’s AirPods, which can be used in conjunction with AirPower.
Although the iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and Apple Watch Series 3 all support wireless charging, Apple chose not to release AirPower at the same time as those devices.
Instead, it has played up the fact that all those products can be charged using mats that support the Qi wireless charging standard.
AirPower can charge products simultaneously, with space for an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods.
Apple has yet to announce an official price, although it has been reported that it will cost $199 in the US. That's likely to translate to £199 in the UK.
