Apple is set to launch (Product) Red versions of its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus this week, after a leak from a U.S. network accidentally revealed the plans.
A memo to Virgin Mobile staff said that both phones would be on the network’s inventory from 9th April. It adds that Apple will announce the new iPhones at the same time.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are currently available in gold, silver and space grey.
A new (Product) Red version would bring Apple’s current range into line with previous models. A percentage of the price will be donated to raising awareness to help end HIV/AIDS in eight African countries.
The memo doesn't say whether the iPhone X will be getting a (Product) Red edition, meaning it’s unlikely Apple will be offering its top–end device in the charitable hue.
Apple is said to be plotting a gold version of the iPhone X for release over the summer. It is not yet clear if updated versions of the iPhone X, due in autumn, will also feature new colours.
