apple tv app oct 16

Apple has added live news to its TV app for iOS and Apple TV.

News sources include CNN, CBS, Fox News, Bloomberg, CNBC and Cheddar. They should all appear in the Watch Now section of the app.

However, the feature is only available for US users at the moment. The UK version of the app shows no live news.

US users will have to have the app running on the latest version of iOS and on tvOS – the Apple TV's operating system.

Back in December, US viewers also got access to live sports through the app.

The feature was first touted back in September, at the launch event of the Apple TV 4K.

Apple is increasingly targeting TV content as a way to grow its business. As well as offering live content through the TV app, it's commissioned a raft of original dramas, comedies, reality shows and documentaries. These usually air on its Apple Music service, though the firm is rumoured to be working on a standalone TV streaming service too.
