BT subscribers are being given the opportunity to get their hands on a discount Android 4.0 tablet.

The broadband provider is offering a Storage Options Scroll Excel 7" Capacitive Touch-Screen tablet - complete with the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system - for just £79.98.

BT describes the Scroll Excel as a portable, capacitive touch-screen Android 4.0 tablet made especially for internet browsing, social networking, games, videos and other applications.

It comes with 512MB RAM, 8GB Memory and Flash support for online TV and video services.

"The highlight of the tablet's expansive multimedia capabilities is its smooth 3D and 1080p HD output to a compatible TV or monitor via a mini HDMI cable," BT states.

The broadband provider said the Scroll Excel is "everything you want from a tablet" - the "ideal companion" for social networking, instant messaging and email.

"Stay in touch with your family and friends and share your experiences whilst on the move, chat, upload pictures and videos and keep up to date with the latest trends and stories online from wherever you are," BT urges.

Strategy Analytics has predicted the addition of 150 million new tablet mobile broadband subscribers over the next five years.
