Mobile broadband news

Users who want high-speed internet access while they're on the go should look at mobile broadband services, Mobile Choice asserts.

In a consumer review of mobile products, the online resource notes that HSDPA services can deliver fast internet for both laptops and mobiles.

Users can benefit from simple pricing structures and improving network coverage as providers pool infrastructural resources in the coming months.

"Your dongle is only as good as the network it connects to. So, when choosing your USB modem or stick, the three chief criteria are network coverage, speed and price," the resource notes.

It notes that Vodafone currently offers the highest maximum speed on its 7.2 Mbps network, while 3's 90 per cent Turbo Network coverage is also recognised.

In recent months, Vodafone and Orange have announced they will team up to share mobile broadband network connections in order to improve coverage, while 3 and T-Mobile also entered into a similar partnership.
