Mobile broadband news

A new selection of Toshiba laptops have been manufactured with in-built mobile broadband.

The updated systems, which are aimed at high-end business users, have all been equipped with 3G technology in an indication of mobile broadband's expansion.

Ultra-thin and suitable for workers on the move, the 12.1in Portege R600 weighs only 970 grams.

It has a DVD player, long-life battery and a mobile broadband module for easy web connection.

Also unveiled at the Mobility Conference in Zurich, was Toshiba's Portege A600, which will weigh heavier than its cousin, but cost less - mobile broadband is also built-in to the machine.

The N100 Netbook is another mobile broadband-equipped device that will be released by Toshiba.

Not only does the computer have Wi-Fi connectivity and three USB ports, it is also available in a range of different colours.
