'Portrait Artist of the Year' is coming back to Sky. The first episode of series three will air on Sky Arts at 8pm on Tuesday 24th January.
This series sees more than 20 celebrities sit to have their portraits painted, including Stanley Tucci, Richard E Grant, Sue Perkins, Adrian Chiles and Graham Norton.
As in previous series, each celebrity gets to choose which finished portrait they keep for themselves, regardless of whether the artist proceeded to the next stage of the competition.
Also like previous series, it will be presented by Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell, and judged by Tai Shan Shierenberg, Kathleen Soriano and Kate Bryan (the same lineup as Sky Arts' 'Landscape Artist of the Year'.)
"The relationship between a portrait artist and their subject is a very intimate one," said Frank Skinner. "I love being able to, along with the viewers, stick my nose in and watch the whole stress-filled process unfold."
Joan Bakewell added: "'Portrait Artist of the Year' brings together some of the most talented painters with some of the most striking personalities.
"We see artists use brush, paint, pastels, charcoal to capture the elusive beauty of people whose faces we think we know. But art reveals more: and in each programme we watch it happen."
