Virgin Media has launched its new ultra-modern TV service, Virgin TV 360 — a multi-device, multi-room interface designed to let you watch your favourite shows wherever you may be.
It comes with a whole host of upgrades to the renowned Virgin TV package, including a new voice-enabled remote for seamless voice search, and additional mini-boxes to watch and record Ultra-HD content in multiple rooms in the house.
New customers who choose any Virgin Media TV and broadband bundle will get to use Virgin TV 360 from day one, but existing customers will have to upgrade to its Ultimate Oomph bundle to access it for now. This package includes 500Mbps average broadband speeds and hugely popular TV add-ons including Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD and BT Sport 4K, all for £89 per month.
From today, customers who already have the Virgin Media Ultimate Oomph bundle can receive a free upgrade to Virgin TV 360.
In a move to help you easily find your shows, movies and apps across all of your subscriptions and box sets, Virgin TV 360 brings a number of improvements to its TV menus.
It now shows streaming services, on-demand content and various music and video apps right alongside the usual Virgin Media channel options, and allows different members of your household to set up their own ‘profile’ with tailored watch lists and recommendations.
By creating your own profile, you can pause what you’re watching on one screen and continue right where you left off on another just by signing back in and selecting it again. This can be done on another Virgin TV 360 box in the home or on a mobile device using the revamped Virgin TV Go app.
You won’t experience a drop in quality either — provided you’re watching on a compatible screen, the new Virgin interface allows you to watch compatible shows in super crisp 4K Ultra HD on any device you wish, rather than just the main TV box.
If you missed the start of a live event or favourite show that you weren’t recording, Virgin TV 360 will still let you watch it in full, right there and then, thanks to its new ‘Startover’ option.
Tied in with a range of catch-up TV options, this means that with Virgin TV 360 you should always have a chance to enjoy something you couldn’t watch from the beginning — so no more spoilers.
