As the UK enters another lockdown, UK viewers are about to get access to a brand new streaming service. Discovery Plus (aka Discovery+) is the latest in a long list of streaming services that you can use to distract yourself from the real world. And with a whole host of fascinating, educational and inspirational content, it will help entertain and educate the whole family.
By its own description, Discovery Plus is the home of real-life entertainment, “From thrill-seekers to crime obsessives, petrolheads to foodies - whatever you're into, you'll find it here.”
With exclusive access to Discovery Plus originals, box sets, and your favourite educational channels, it’s the home of everything from wildlife documentaries to cooking shows and a whole host of reality TV.

You can live stream or binge content from these great channels:
You’ll also get access to Discovery Plus Originals that are sure to satisfy your reality TV cravings, including specials from the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic.
Vodafone UK mobile customers will benefit from a long-term agreement between the network and the Discovery TV channel in Europe, adding access to Discovery Plus for mobile customers in the UK. Unfortunately, this offer isn’t currently being offered to Vodafone broadband and TV customers.
Ahmed Essam, Vodafone’s Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer said, “I am extremely pleased to have made this agreement with Discovery, which extends our existing partnership and perfectly demonstrates Vodafone’s positioning as one of Europe’s leading video content platforms. Discovery will be a key part of our entertainment offer, providing a rich choice of content that will enhance Vodafone’s provision of a superior customer experience across its high-quality TV and flexible streaming services”.
The rollout of Discovery Plus is expected to take place gradually over the next couple of years, with no UK launch date officially announced. While there aren’t any specific details yet of how Vodafone customers will be able to claim this deal, we will keep you posted as soon as we find out more.
Discovery Plus costs £4.99 a month, or £29.99 for the first year and then £49.99 thereafter. It’s likely that Vodafone UK will incorporate Discovery Plus access into its 4G and 5 G bundles in the future since they’ve been known to offer free introductory trials to other services in the past.
It’s worth noting that Sky broadband customers with a Sky Q box can already access Discovery Plus for 12 months for no extra cost.
