The Samsung Lucido is out now on a range of UK mobile phone networks, bringing high-end handset style to the mid-range phone market.
Keenly anticipated by mobile phone enthusiasts, the Lucido, which is Italian for shiny, features a similar design to the Tocco Ultra Edition but at 11.8mm is significanlty slimmer.
The candybar form factor also marks it out from its predecessor, which was a slider phone.
Stand-out features of the Samsung Lucido include a five megapixel camera with anti-blur, face detection and smile capture technology, as well as a large 2.2 inch OLED screen.
Owners will also benefit from a media player, integrated Sat-Nav, HSDPA support for fast downloads and Bluetooth to enable users to synch easily with other devices.
Samsung has provided a generous 110MB of internal memory, with the opportunity to boost this further by adding a microSD card.
A £1million advertising campaign is planned to promote the handset.
