O2 has officially confirmed that it will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S 2 when it goes on sale in the UK next month.
The carrier has revealed via its Twitter account: “Good news, it's coming soon - May!” before clarifying in a follow-up tweet: “Sorry, we meant Samsung Galaxy S2's coming in May”.
The announcement comes as Samsung confirmed the Galaxy S successor is finally landing on store shelves in the UK on May 1st, having originally been scheduled to arrive in March.
O2 joins Vodafone and Orange as the third major network in Blighty to offer the handset. Although it has yet to reveal pricing and contract details, but expect to hear more regarding those very soon.
Smartfans who have patiently waited for its arrival can look forward an improved 1.2GHz dual core processor, up from the 1GHz number that was mooted when the handset was originally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February.
Other standout specs include a gorgeous 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen and an eight-megapixel snapper that shoots videos in full HD, aka 1080p, runs Gingerbread out of the box and is being billed as the thinnest smartphone in the world: measuring just 8.49mm in thickness.
