Judge tells Apple and Samsung to kiss and make up

A judge in the US has entreated Apple and Samsung to try to ‘get along’, amid an ongoing legal spat between the pair over alleged copying of each others’ products.

In case you’ve been living under a rock the past few months, Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung back in April for ‘slavishly’ nicking the ‘design and technology’ of its iProducts and incorporating them into the Galaxy range of devices.

Apple eventually won a court order for its lawyers to get their mitts on Sammy’s prototypes to investigate any wrongdoing.

However, Samsung was having none of it and responded with its own legal complaint, requesting the court order Apple to hand over prototypes of the iPhone 5, iPad 3 and all information Cupertino is withholding on the existence of extraterrestrial life. Not really.

Naturally, Apple wasn’t too pleased about it and lodged a complaint to the court stating that Samsung’s request amounted to ‘harassment’.

But it seems the judge in charge of the proceedings has had enough of the bickering between the two firms.

Judge Lucy Koh reportedly said in court: "Can't we all just get along here?"

Urging the companies to have their differences resolved amicably, Koh added: "I will send you with box of chocolates, whatever."

Flowers and a candlelight dinner under the stars would go a long way too, we reckon.

Fortunately, it seems peace talks are already taking place.
According to Apple’s lawyer Harold McElhinny, top-level suits from both companies have already sat down to negotiate.

"They are in fact meeting and talking", said McElhinny.

See that wasn’t too hard, was it?
