Samsung’s newly unveiled Galaxy S Advance smartphone will be available on Three when it lands in Blighty, the carrier has confirmed.
Samsung made a surprise announcement of the handset yesterday shortly after it was leaked in snaps and YouTube videos. Three is the first and only UK network so far to confirm it will be on board for the launch and has set up a 'coming soon' page where punters can register their interest.
As the name probably suggests, the Galaxy S Advance is an improved version of the original Galaxy S. This time around it packs a dual core 1GHz processor – up from its predecessor’s single core number – and twice as much RAM, too.
The handset itself has been given a design refresh with a curvier rear similar to the Galaxy Nexus while the front looks more like the Galaxy S2.
Elsewhere on board is a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, a five-megapixel camera (plus a front-facing 1.3-megapixel cam for video calls), 8GB to 16GB of internal storage depending on the model and a microSD slot to expand that further.
Alas, Three did not reveal pricing details or a firm release date. But we expect it to be available by early March with contract options starting at £30.
Keep ‘em peeled for more Galaxy S Advance news in the weeks to come.
