Speculation that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will land next month has been summarily dismissed by the gadget-maker.
Reports that Sammy’s next blockbuster Android kit would drop on March 22nd surfaced last week. The rumour started when Samsung announced a mystery press event in Paris for March 22nd.
However, today the hopes of the Android Army of would-be buyers were blown out of the water, after Samsung comprehensively ruled out an appearance for the phone at its Parisian happening.
Instead, the event will be a kind of show and tell open-day with the onus on the company’s current range of Galaxy kits, a Samsung spokesperson told The Next Web.
Previously, Samsung had told the tech press to expect the S3 at some stage during the first half of 2012. That means that, at worst, we could be looking at a painful wait of another five months.
Still, even if only half of the S3 spec sheet rumours doing the rounds come to fruition, it’ll be worth the wait. Among the purported highlights so far are a sinewy quad-core processor for some real pixel-pushing power, a top-grade 12-megapixel camera and 3D media playback.
