O2 has trimmed the price of the Samsung Galaxy S2 for a limited period, becoming the latest carrier to bid to clear stocks ahead of the mooted imminent arrival of the S3.
Until April 5th, O2 is offering the S2 for free when customers sign up to a two-year contract at £21.50 per month. Allowances are 200 anytime, any-network minutes, 250 O2 to O2 minutes and 250 MB of data per month. And you get unlimited text messages too.
It’s unlikely anyone with a passing interest in consumer tech doesn’t know all there is to know about Sammy’s 20 million-selling smartie.
But in case you’ve somehow avoided all tell of the S2, stand-out specs take in a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED plus screen, an eight megapixel camera and a secondary 1.3 megapixel snapper for video calls.
A dual-core processor is also on board to keep things running smoother than an especially silky Barry White & Love Unlimited Orchestra jam.
O2 has recently updated the phone’s software to the latest Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, bringing new features to the handset.
These include an improved, faster browser, longer battery life and the Face Unlock security option that replaces standard unlocking measures with face recognition technology.
