An online retailer has trimmed the asking price of the Samsung Galaxy Note, as all eyes turn Sammy-wards ahead of the arrival of the Galaxy S3 later this month.
Buymobilephones.net is offering the Note for free when customers sign up for a two-year contract on O2 at £18.50 per month.
The downside? You don’t get that much in the way of allowances. Although unlimited text messages are a gimme, calls are limited to 100 minutes per month, while mobile web usage is capped at a pretty paltry 100MB.
But if that doesn’t bother you unduly, you’re still getting a pretty nifty handset that blends smartphone and tablet functionality and form factor more convincingly than ever before.
Standout specs take in a 5.4-inch Super AMOLED HD screen at its centre with stylus support for note-taking and a 1.4GHz dual-core processor.
It’s also home to an eight-megapixel snapper with auto-focus and LED flash, HD video recording and 16GB of internal storage.
The Note runs Android 2.3 out of the box. However, an update to the newest Ice Cream Sandwich is imminent and will bring with some cool new apps designed specifically for the stylus.
