Phones 4u and Carphone Warehouse have confirmed they will be offering Samsung’s freshly announced Galaxy S4 when it goes in sale in the UK next month.
Following Samsung’s pompous unveiling of the Galaxy S4 last night, the high street retailers have put up registration pages on their respective websites to allow prospective buyers to be notified when it’s available to pre-order.
Both vendors expect to have the Galaxy S4 in stock by April 26th. Customers can place a deposit of £29 with Carphone Warehouse to ensure they get their hands on it on day one, as demand is likely to outstrip initial supply.
Network and pricing details have yet to be revealed, however, expect these to be revealed closer to launch. At the very least we know that the Galaxy S4 will launch on all the major networks, so there won’t be any shortage of options.
Officially announced at a press call in New York’s Radio City Music Hall, the Galaxy S4 brings a host of improvements over its predecessor, the 30 million-plus-selling Galaxy S3.
Among these are a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED screen with full HD resolution and 441 ppi density, an eight-core processor to blow away just about anything in market and a 13-megapixel shooter to go toe to toe with Sony’s recently launched Xperia Z.
The S4’s real strength, however, lies in its software offering. These include long-rumoured motion-sensitive and gesture-based features that combine the phone’s front-facing camera with clever eye-tracking technology.
One of these is Smart Scroll, which enables users to tilt the handset up or down to scroll through pages. Smart Pause, on the other hand, automatically pauses the video when the user is not looking at the screen.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 should begin by the end of March. Be sure to sign up to our email registration box below to keep informed of release and pricing information.
