The SLR-rivalling Zoom variant of Samsung’s Galaxy S5 hits shop shelves tomorrow. But only at select retailers.
The second Zoom-branded Galaxy smartphone will be up for grabs from Carphone Warehouse and Sammy's own Samsung Experience outlets, after debuting at tail end of April.
Carphone will be offering the handset, which looks a lot like the S5 but with a vast telescopic lens sitting pretty on the rear, on free-phone deals from £38 per month.
From June 1st, it’s on sale at mobiles.co.uk too, with contracts starting from £33 per month. It’s not clear if that includes a free handset, though.
So what does that sort of outlay get you? Well, top of the list is a 20.7-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom, Xenon flash and full HD video recording, plus a 4.7-inch screen with resolution of 1,280x720 pixels for enjoying the results of your snapping and recording.
You can also expect Android 4.4 out of the box, some smart Samsung-only apps, such as Ultra Power Saving Mode and S Health for wellbeing monitoring and 1.3GHz quad-core processor, alongside a 1.7GHz dual-core chip.
Simon Stanford, VP of IT and Mobile at Samsung UK and Ireland, said: “We’re excited to introduce the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom to the UK market, giving our customers the convenience and connectivity of a Galaxy smartphone with a professional grade camera for a unique, all-in-one mobile experience.
“Perfect for taking incredible photos and sharing them quickly with your friends and family, the Galaxy K Zoom will help our customers stay stylish and connected at all times, wherever they are.”
