Samsung is preparing three new colour options for the warmly received Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus handsets, just weeks after the devices officially launched.
According to listings on its website, Samsung will offer the Galaxy S8 in ‘Ice Lake Blue’, ‘Smoked Purple Grey’ and ‘Quicksand Gold’. It appears the S8 Plus will only be for grabs in the grey and gold versions.
The new, slightly bizarrely named colours join the existing black, orchid grey, silver, gold and coral blue editions.
It’s not yet clear when these colours will launch here in the UK, as the listing comes from Samsung’s Taiwanese website.
Choosing to launch new versions so soon suggests Samsung is keen to push its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus hard over the summer, in a bid to entice customers to upgrade before the launch of the iPhone 8 in September.
Samsung is also working on its own next–generation Note 8, which is expected to arrive later in the year with a 6.3–inch screen, dual lens camera and a series of software tweaks.
