Samsung’s Galaxy S9 is not expected to launch until early 2018. However rumours are already coming thick and fast, including claims that a pair of Bluetooth headphones will be bundled with the handset.
The earbuds, purportedly made by audio giant AKG, could potentially mean Samsung will join the ranks of mobile-makers dropping the standard headphone slot from their flagship smartphones.
The insider who leaked the details via Chinese social media says that early prototypes do feature a 3.5mm port for headphones, however.
The same source also claims that Samsung is readying a special anti–glare coating for the Galaxy S9 camera, mitigating against lens flare and so–called dual images.
Reports have suggested that the Galaxy S9 will come with a much–improved facial scanning system, aimed at taking on Apple’s Face ID tech, a cornerstone of the iPhone X.
Other rumours include plans to shift the phone’s fingerprint scanner away from the rear camera, after consumers complained it was difficult to reach on this year’s Galaxy S8.
