Samsung appears to have found a way to create a truly all–screen phone with no camera sensors, fingerprint scanners or nasty notches to blight user experience.
Filed with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), the newly found patent shows off plans to build the phone’s fingerprint scanner, selfie camera and facial detection tech into a handset’s display.

Such a move would allow for a full screen experience beyond that found on existing Samsung phones, while also doing away with the need for an iPhone X–style notch.
Apple is also believed to be working on similar tech for future iPhones.
Any such developments are unlikely to make 2018’s Samsung lineup. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are set to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next month, while the Galaxy Note 9, due in August, may also come too soon.
Once the tech does arrive, however, it could give Samsung a much–needed edge in its battle with Apple for smartphone supremacy.
