Cut VAT on energy bills – what do you think?

uSwitch today called for the government to cut VAT on its energy bills.

New research released today revealed that deaths from hypothermia in the last five years had doubled, prompting concerns about the effects of the cost of energy in the UK.

Fuel poverty, when a customer spends over 10% of their income on their energy bills, has become an increasing concern, with over 7 million of already suffering.

uSwitch has today called for the government to cut the VAT on our energy bills, which will bring energy bills down by £60 and help to lift 250, 000 households out of fuel poverty.

So what do you think? Should the government cut VAT on energy or do you think it should be doing more elsewhere? Vote on our poll and leave your comments below!
