The Mondeo is the family car that was launched back in 1993 to replace the popular Ford Sierra – which itself replaced the Ford Cortina in the early 1980s.

Ford Mondeo models

Mondeos come in various options including hatchback or estate. The current models being produced are the Zetec Edition; the Titanium Edition; Titanium Hybrid Electric Vehicle and the ST-Line Edition. The Ford Mondeo has long been considered ideal for long distance drives and family holidays requiring heavy luggage loads. 

For Mondeo engines and fuel consumption

The Mondeo offers petrol, diesel and Hybrid options to buyers. In terms of fuel consumption, the Ford Mondeo 2.0L EcoBlue TDCi Zetec Edition 150PS comes out best – offering 64 miles to the gallon and 132 CO2 emissions.  

The least efficient is the Mondeo 2.0L EcoBlue TDCi ST-Line Edition 190PS AWD Auto which promises 55 miles to the gallon, with CO2 emissions OF 154.

Euro NCAP safety ratings

The 2019 Ford Mondeo scores highly in safety tests – receiving five stars overall. It currently sits 14th in the Euro NCAP list of safest family cars – just one place below the Ford Fiesta. The car’s safety score
