The latest Renault Clio models 

A reason it may be Europe’s favourite go-to car is because customers really are spoilt for choice. The latest generation model comes in a five-door hatchback with up to nine engine/ gearbox options to choose from. 

The engine line-up includes turbocharged petrol engines revving up to 1.3L and naturally aspirated engines like the 1.0 SCe and Blue dCi 1.5 litre diesel with an output of 85hp.

The interiors have been redesigned but remain high quality and can be customised to your heart’s content with add-on accessories or you can make life simple and choose an existing model. One highlighted feature allows the smartphone to take centre stage on a screen on the console.  

There are six trims and five engines. The Clio has a spacious boot with the largest volume capacity in its category at 391L. 

Enhanced features on the Renault Clio

The All-New Clio line up comes with enhanced equipment, options and features at various price points. 

Consumers who are concerned about emissions will be pleased that Renault supports the new emissions testing procedure called ‘Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure’ (WLTP), a plus for consumers as it promises to provide fuel economy and emissions data which is more representative of the real-life results. 

As a baseline, the Renault Clio’s EasyLife range is available across all models. You can add optional extras. In terms of powertrains, there is a new E-Tech Hybrid engine which features an Active Emergency Brake – active monitoring allows detection of pedestrians alerting drive and braking automatically in case of emergency.

Renault Clio engines and fuel consumption

Available engines are in the-something-for-everyone category with powertrain choices for those who prefer a model that is fuel efficient to one a bit more super charged. 

For young drivers and those wanting a city nipper, the three-cylinder SCe with a power level of 75hp. A more versatile choice with more oomph is the TCe 100 with 100hp. More edgy and more powerful is the 1.3 litre TCe 130 Auto, which ups the ante going from 0-62 mph in nine seconds.
