Extra Energy launches cheapest energy plan on the market

Commenting on the latest and cheapest energy deal to enter the market, Emma Bush, energy expert at Uswitch.com, says: “Extra Energy is the latest small supplier to offer consumers a more competitive deal, following in the footsteps of First Utility and Ovo with the launch of its new tariff at under £1,000. These smaller players are certainly giving the big six a run for their money, and challenging suppliers of all sizes to up their game to win over customers. Our data shows that more and more people are voting with their feet and switching to smaller providers, who now provide eight out of the ten cheapest deals.

“At £990 a year, Extra Energy’s ‘ValuePlus Fixed Price Sept 2015 v1’ deal is a whopping £275 a year cheaper than the average standard plan on the market for customers paying by cash or cheque.

“The most important thing for people to do is make sure they’re armed with information about all of the plans available to them. This way you can see all plans available to you based on your usage and payment requirements.”
