Android Jelly Bean is finally rolling out to HTC One X handsets on O2, bringing owners bang up to date with the latest iteration of Google’s platform.
The upgrade, which has been available to unlocked versions of the One X for some time now, is currently available to O2 customers as an over-the-air update and adds a host of new features and improvements including a smoother, faster user experience courtesy of ‘Project Butter’, an intelligent voice-guided assistant in the shape of Google Now and enhanced notifications that are grouped by application and can be acted on from within the notifications menu.
Also new is Android Beam that enables easier sharing of photos and videos over Near Field Communication, a quicker, smarter web browser and embedded speech recognition that enables you to use Voice Typing even without an active internet connection.
If you haven't already received a notification to download the update, you can check for it manually by going to ‘Settings’ then ‘About Phone’. As always, we recommend backing up your device first to avoid losing any important data in the event something goes wrong.
