htc desire 816 colours

Recently HTC CFO Chang Chialin admitted the phone-maker had neglected the lower and mid-range market in 2013 and that this had been a key reason for its sub-par results.

The arrival of the Desire 816 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) suggests it won’t be repeating that mistake this year.

And it’s not just depending on nostalgia for the Desire brand to spark sales, it seems.

Specs take in a 5.5-inch screen, 13-megapixel camera, a secondary five-megapixel front-facer and a quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A7. And if we believe what HTC says, it’ll come in at a fraction of the cost of the HTC One.
