A newly leaked image of HTC’s forthcoming All New One smartphone has given the clearest sign yet of exactly what the device’s dual camera set-up will look like.
The press pic, shown off by the always-reliable @evleaks Twitter feed, clearly shows a second camera lens sitting at the very top of the device, directly above the main camera.
This design has been talked up for weeks and seen in a series of blurry spy shots. However, this if the first time that we’ve been treated to a proper close–up of the cameras.
Excitingly, there’s still no word on exactly what the second lens is there for.
Will it be used to allow users to switch focus on subjects after a shot is taken, much like the excellent Lytro compact camera?
Or is it aimed at improving zoom without resorting to optical, rather than digital, technology?
All will be revealed on March 25th, when HTC holds joint events in London and New York.
However, with gossip about the phone taking centre stage, don’t be surprised if more specs leak out in the next few weeks.
