LG is poised to unveil a successor to its hugely successful Viewty camera phone, it has been reported.
According to New Mobile, the handset is currently titled the LG GC900 and features a touchscreen as well as a high-grade eight megapixel camera.
Among the advanced imaging capabilities of the handset are face recognition, smile shot, geo-tagging and image stabilisation.
LG has yet to confirm a price point for the new mobile phone, but it is known that it will be HSDPA 3G compatible for fast browsing and downloads of up to 7.2Mb.
The handset is equipped with 32GB on internal memory to allow plenty of storage space for images and videos captured with the camera.
The impending release of LG’s new advanced camera phone comes as rival handset manufacturing is preparing to bring its own offering the Idou handset to the UK market.
This stole headlines at the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona thanks to its high-end 12 megapixel camera.
