Details of a new HTC mobile phone with advanced imaging capabilities and a super-fast processor have leaked online.
Dubbed the HTC Firestone, the new Windows Mobile phone will be home to an eight megapixel camera, a touchscreen user interface and the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz chip that features in the Toshiba TG01.
It is thought that the Firestone will initially run the 6.1 version of the Windows Mobile operating system but that a free upgrade to the latest 6.5 version will be on offer when it becomes available.
The appearance of the phone highlights the Taiwanese company's ongoing support for the OS in the week that it confirmed plans to up production of handsets that employ the rival Android system.
HTC’s ambitions in the Android mobile phone market have been fuelled by the huge popularity of the HTC Magic and the T-Mobile G1, which has sold over a million units since launching late last year.
