The Motorola Milestone XT720, which is allegedly being prepared for launch in the next month or so, has had details about its hardware made public by the manufacturer.
It was already known that the follow-up to the acclaimed Milestone would be able to shoot high definition video footage using its eight megapixel camera, which allows it to compete with the likes of the recently announced iPhone 4.
Motorola has now disclosed that the next Milestone will also have a 720MHz processor and 512MB of onboard storage, which means it has benefited from upgrades across the board, although the processor is still not quite competitive with the current 1GHz crop.
Whether the Milestone XT720 will stick with the slate-thin design of the original Milestone whilst maintaining the full QWERTY keypad and slider mechanism is as yet unknown.
However, Motorola has been putting considerable effort into the creation of unique and often beautiful smartphones of late, so a similarly alluring mobile is likely to be on its way.
