The HTC Desire will hit stores October 11th, Carphone Warehouse’s product listings reveal.
Earlier reports suggested that HTC’s handset was scheduled to go on sale October 8th – setting up a sales showdown with the Nokia N8, which is apparently landing in shops on the same day.
However, according to an [insider at Carphone cited by CoolSmartphone the Desire HD has appeared in the retailer’s internal systems with a sale date of October 11th.
The Desire HD improves on its predecessor with the addition of high definition video, an eight megapixel camera and a media optimised, larger 4.3-inch touchscreen display.
Also onboard is the latest 2.2 version of Android, AKA Froyo, built-in Google apps including Facebook and YouTube, and expandable memory of up to 32GB via microSD card support.
The Desire HD is available for pre-order now on O2, Orange and Vodafone.
