HTC Legend owners on Vodafone got a host of new features on their smartphone today, with the arrival of the up to the minute iteration 2.2 of Google’s Android operating system.
Posts on Vodafone forums suggest that the Android 2.2, AKA Froyo, update was pushed out early this morning, with no reports yet of any of the problems that have beset the arrival of new versions of the platform on some smartphones.
Natch, as usual if you’re planning on getting it it’s a good idea to back up any information you’ve got stored on your smartie. And because the file is pretty big, it’s prudent too to download it over a Wi-Fi connection to save time.
If you’re got Froyo already on your handset, you’ll know that it’s packed with cool new stuff. But in case you’ve been living in a cave, you can look forward to the addition of tethering, enabling you to use your phone as a mobile broadband dongle, plus the option to save apps on a microSD card.
Upgraded Legends are also be compatible with more and newer apps.
