HTC will unveil two Facebook branded phones at this year’s Mobile World Conference (MWC), reports suggest.
According to a report from business news source City A.M, the companies have an “official tie-up” in place, which will bear its first fruits at the tech expo next month.
The phones reportedly run Android and will be adorned in Facebook livery. Not surprisingly, they’ll also have social networking at their core, including the option “to call or email friends from information stored on their Facebook page”.
Regular readers will recall that this isn’t the first we’ve heard about handsets carrying official Facebook branding. Back in September there was much talk abroad that INQ, in conjunction with the social networking site, was preparing a couple of handsets for release in during the first half of this year.
One of those since turned out to be the INQ Cloud Touch - details of which are pretty thin on the ground. But apparently, we’re in for a homescreen with a choice of entry points to different Facebook functions and a dynamic widget that shows a feed of updates and photos and the like.
