LG will bring the Optimus Pad to the UK in April or May exclusively through Carphone Warehouse, it has been reported.
Details of the availability of the slate were disclosed to the good people at Tech Radar by Nick Stam of Nvidia at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011.
Alas, he wasn’t party to price points. But given said device’s appealing spec sheet, we’d probably advise you start saving your coppers now.
The Pad’s USP amid the sea of Android tablets showcased at the MWC is that it’s the first-ever to slate to offer 3D, HD video recording via dual five megapixel stereoscopic snappers mounted on the rear.
You’ll also be able to watch your ‘home video howlers’ in 3D on the 8.9-inch 1280 x 768 resolution display and stream content you’ve recorded around your home to other 3D and Wi-Fi enabled gadgets.
Elsewhere, you’ll find a dual core Tegra 2 processor to keep everything ticking over smoothly and the much-touted and even more drooled over tablet optimised Honeycomb version of Android.
