The HTC Salsa handset is available now on O2, offering the latest version of Android and Facebook-friendly features for a wallet-friendly price.
O2 is offering the social networking-focussed smartphone for free on 24-month contracts from £27 per month, with a mix of texts, minutes and mobile data allowances to choose from.
Alternatively, it’s up for grabs for £16.50 or £21.50 per month with one-off payments of £104.99 and £59.99 respectively.
Among the phone’s key USPs is a dedicated Facebook button that enables users to update their status without having to open an app. The same button also lets you access Facebook Places, so you can boast about whatever swanksome eatery you’re dining in that night.
Elsewhere, the Salsa offers the latest 2.3 version of Android (aka Gingerbread) out of the box with HTC’s Sense custom user interface slathered over the top and a 3.4-inch LCD touchscreen.
In keeping with more costly Andorid phones, the handset also offers two cameras – a rear facing five megapixel number and a secondary front-facing snapper for video calling – and an 800MHz processor to keep everything ticking over smoothly.
